Beta Test Software

To use a given beta release, download and install the platform-specific appropriate beta software archive for the product (see right), which contains the minimum files needed to test (usually just the XTensions or plug-ins). For manuals and other materials, download the released version of the product in question, if you don't already have it installed.

Please carefully note the following before using any beta software:

• First and most importantly, we greatly appreciate any help you can give us in the form of beta test feedback.

• With beta software, we're offering access to future releases of our software that contain both new features and bug fixes, in exchange for your help in finding problems and "surprises."

• You must be a registered user of the latest released version of the Em software product you want to test. You can use your existing serial number with the beta software.

• This is beta-level software: don't be surprised by problems, and please don't depend on it for critical business.

• Only email bug reports will be accepted--we don't have the manpower to deal with phone or fax bug reports; please send full details, in the body of the email message, of the problem you found, including how to reproduce it, and enclose the files involved. See support for general information about how best to get help with problems.

• The only documentation generally available is in the form of the (complete, but skeletal) list of changes from the currently-released version of the product.

• We heartily recommend subscribing to the beta announcement mailing list for notification of new beta releases.
